Our Residential Visits
At our school, we are proud to offer exciting and enriching residential opportunities that help children grow in confidence, independence, and resilience while creating memories that last a lifetime.
Year 4 – Barstondale
Our residential programme begins in Year 4 with a two-day visit to Barstondale Activity Centre. This is often the first time many of our pupils stay away from home, and it provides a supportive, friendly environment where they can take their first steps towards independence.
Children take part in a wide range of outdoor pursuits and team-building challenges, including:
- archery and target sports
- orienteering and map-reading
- survival skills such as fire-lighting and shelter building
- shooting activities under expert supervision
- outdoor challenges that develop problem-solving, resilience, and cooperation

Year 6 – Robinwood (Wrexham)
In Year 6, pupils take part in a three-day residential at Robinwood Activity Centre, Wrexham. This is an action-packed adventure where children are encouraged to challenge themselves, step out of their comfort zone, and celebrate success as a team. Activities include:
- abseiling down towering walls
- canoeing and learning water safety skills
- The Piranha Pool – a thrilling problem-solving challenge
- high ropes and climbing courses
- caving experiences
- The Giant Swing – a test of courage and trust
- A variety of fun evening activities that bring the group together
